Note: If your property belongs to a larger enterprise, a corporate office might complete some of these tasks for you.

Task Frequency Description
Resolve Alerts Daily Alerts require immediate action to ensure optimal revenue optimization.
Resolve Exceptions Daily Review Exceptions to identify situations where you could lose revenue.
Review and Resolve Notifications Daily Review to stay informed of significant changes in system decisions. If you get too few or too many notifications, adjust their thresholds.
Review Overrides Weekly Review overrides regularly to see if they are still needed. Use the Output Override Report and the Input Override Report to identify overrides. Alternatively use the Business Analysis Dashboard or, in screens like Overbooking Management, filter to only display dates with overrides.
Update Special Events

The frequency depends on how many events in your market impact your property. Most clients review weekly.

Review and update your Special Events.

  • Repeat events: ensure that the most recent past instance is the correct one to forecast the next instance. See unusual instances for details.
  • All events: ensure that the dates are correct.
  • Review the past events and delete those that had little impact, see Best Practices for details.
Investigate Forecast and Decisions More frequently early in your system use, then less frequently and on a high level.

See investigate forecast, pricing, LRV, and when to override overbooking for details.

Review Market Segment setup As needed, but at least once per year

Alerts inform you when you need to assign attributes to a new market segment. But at least once a year review if other changes require updates to the attributes, for example, because a corporate account switched from yieldable to LRA (Last Room Availability) and, therefore, semi-yieldable.

Review Group Pricing Setup At least once per year
Rate Plan Setup At least once per year
  • Verify that your rate structure is aligned to your property's pricing strategy.
  • Ensure the date ranges for rates extend far enough into the future.
Rate Shopping Setup When you add a new competitor or channel, or at least once per year
Rooms Setup At least once per year

In particular, check:

  • Room Type: ensure at least one room type in each Room Class allows overbooking and that your setup supports your Upgrade Path. See best practices for details.
  • Cost of Walk: ensure the values are still appropriate.
  • If used, Minimum Price Differential: ensure that they align with your pricing setup, see best practices for details.
Notification Configuration At least once per year Check if you receive the right amount of Notifications. Change the thresholds to receive fewer or more Notifications. You can also temporarily disable or permanently delete Notifications.
