Generate or schedule the Market Segment Mapping report to learn which market segments and Forecast GroupsClosed You characterize market segments by adding attributes. G3 RMS combines similar market segments into Forecast Groups to ensure sufficient booking data. Forecast Groups with similar characteristics and enough data improve forecasting and optimization performance. your rates codes belong to. The mappings to market segments are different from the ones you are likely familiar with in the Reservation SystemClosed The primary reservation system, like a PMS or CRS, that provides data to G3 RMS. The data from that one system is used by the RMS to forecast, optimize and produce controls. The controls are sent to all selling systems, which for some integrations may exclude the reservation system. that provides data to G3 RMS.

Reporting Steps

  1. Click , then Reports, and then Market Segment Mapping.
    The Configure Report pane displays.
  2. Select a Report Format:
    • Select On Screen to open the report in a new browser window. Use the paging arrows on the top of the window to page through multiple windows of data.
    • Select Excel to open or save the report as an Excel spreadsheet.
  3. Click Generate.

Data Details

The report displays the following information:

Column Description
Rate Code The name of the rate code, imported from the reservation system.
Market Segment The name of the market segment to which the rate code belongs, as it appears in G3 RMS after you assign attributes in Market Segment Setup.
Forecast Group The name of the Forecast Group to which the rate code belongs.
Original Market Segment The name of the market segment to which the rate code belongs, as it appears in the reservation system. The reservation system might use a different name from "market segment," like Market Code, Market Category, MCAT, or Source Code.
