Data in Pre-Select Display Options
The category names in SmartSpace(Market Segments, Booking Type, Meeting Class) might not be the same names as in your Sales and Catering system The system that you use to manage the bookings for your function rooms. Also known as a diary management, or meetings and events reservation system. Examples include Delphi and Opera.. But the values for each category are imported from your system and therefore specific to your business. If you don't use a category in your system, for example, if you don't assign a meeting class to bookings, then the category shows no values in SmartSpace.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Market Segments | The segmentation of business according to customer characteristics. |
Booking Type | The purpose of the event, for example, meeting, or wedding. |

Lead Source |
How you received the booking, for example, telephone or email. You can map each source to direct, 3rd-party, central reservations, or online portals. |
Best Practices
Select the Options That Lead to Meaningful Data
- Choose only items related to meetings and events revenues. For example, don't select a market segment that is associated with guest room revenue and has no impact on function rooms.
- Select items that are revenue-generating and represent meetings and events Demand
The amount of business that wants to book your function rooms. It equals the number of enquiries for a time period and includes all statuses. You define four demand levels, from High to Distressed, in the Daily Demand pages.. For example, don't include a booking type used for house-use meetings.
- Exclude items that slant the data, like market segments that differ dramatically from the rest of your business and need to be analysed separately.
Choose Options That Work for All Users
Your selections apply to all users in your system. Users can change the defaults by clicking the Market Segment, Booking Type, or Meeting Class Filter button in a report.
