Property Business View
Add a Property Business View to see G3 RMS data grouped in a way that is meaningful to you. By default you see Forecast Groups, but they are likely not meaningful to you because they combine or split the original market segments from your Reservation System The primary reservation system, like a PMS or CRS, that provides data to G3 RMS. The data from that one system is used by the RMS to forecast, optimize and produce controls. The controls are sent to all selling systems, which for some integrations may exclude the reservation system..
For example, many clients use the original market segments in their financial reports. G3 RMS can create a Business View that matches those market segments. That allows you to use a familiar view to compare On Books business to your
Note: no unconstrained demand Unconstrained, or true demand refers to how much you could sell if there were no constraints such as the hotel’s capacity or restrictions on bookings. This demand forecast shows you the potential demand, not just the limited demand that you accept.

Steps to Set Up a Property Business View
- Click
, then External Data, and then Business Views.
- Click the Property Business View
tab.
- The left pane displays a list of existing Business Groups. If you set up the Property Business View for the first time, all market segments are unassigned.
- The right pane displays the market segments with their attributes.
You can auto-create a default Property Business View or create a custom one.
Auto-Create a Property Business View that Matches Your Original Market Segments
- Click AutoCreate. G3 RMS creates one Business Group for each market segment.
- If needed, change the name or description. See step 9 below.
Create a Custom Property Business View
- Click
to add a Business Group.
- Enter a Business Group Name and Description. Descriptions are for informational purposes only.
- Click Save.
- Move market segments into Business Groups:
- In the left pane, click the Business Group that holds the market segment, for example Unassigned.
- In the right pane, click a market segment row to select it.
- Drag and drop the market segment on the desired Business Group in the left pane. The Market Segments column updates to display the number of market segments in the Business Group.
- If you make a mistake or need to make changes, complete the same steps of dragging the market segment to the appropriate Business Group in the left pane.
- Click Save.
- Move all market segments. Note: the data for any unassigned market segments displays in reports and dashboards as Unassigned.
- To change the name or description:
- Click the edit icon
for the selected Business Group.
- Change the Business Group Name or Description, as needed.
- Click Apply.
- Click Save.
- Click the edit icon
- To delete a Property Group:
- Click the delete icon
next to the Business Group name. A message displays to inform you that data related to the Business View will also be deleted.
- Click Yes to confirm the deletion. The market segments from the deleted Property Business Group become available to add to a different view.
- Click Save.
- Click the delete icon
Create Rules to Automatically Map New Market Segments
If your market segments follow a naming convention, you can Create Rules so that G3 RMS assigns new market segments to the matching Business Group. The rules apply only to Unassigned market segments, they don’t change what you already mapped.

Click Create Rules. The Mapping Rules window opens.

Click to add
a rule.

Select the how G3 RMS selects the market segments for this rule, for example, those with names starting with COR.

Select the Business Group that the market segments with those names should belong to.

Save
the rule.

Add all the rules you need and, if needed, change
their rank. For example, if you have one rule starting with CO and another with COR, rank the COR rule higher than the CO rule.

If you change ranking, click to Save the changes.
