Competitor Details

Use Competitor Details to view the most recent data from all competitors and all channels in Pricing Management.

G3 RMS displays new rate shopping data immediately, but it impacts decisions and the forecast only after the next processing (or if you run a What If scenario). See Important Dates for the most recent rate shopping data.

Steps to Access

  1. Click and then Pricing Management.
  2. In the calendar view, adjust the filters to locate the date to be reviewed.
  3. Click the date to be reviewed. A yellow window opens.
  4. Click the link for the competitor (Comp) price. Competitor Details displays.
  5. Click the filter icon to filter the displayed information. Filters are useful, for example, if you want to review the pricing for only two instead of all competitors, but from all channels instead of only the one default channel. If your rate shops include data for different room types or Room Classes, you can also change those selections.
    1. Filter by Channel, Competitor, Room Class and Competitive Room Type.
    2. Click Apply to save your filters. Click Reset to return to the default settings.

Detail Description
Channel The name of the channel. By default G3 RMS displays the channel selected as the reference channel for the day of week in Channel Settings. Click the filter icon to select and view other channels.
Competitor The name of all competitors included in the rate shop. A highlight indicates the default competitor, as set up in Competitor Display settings.
Class The G3 RMS Room Class that is mapped to the Competitive Room Type, based on Room Class Mapping.
Competitive Room Type The name of the competitive room type for which the rate shop was performed.
Remarks

This field is imported directly from the rate shop and usually contains information on the hotel, the rate and room type shopped.

Ensure that you compare similar rates. For example, if you compare BAR to the competitors’ discounted Loyalty Program price, then G3 RMS tends to price lower.

Included in Rate Shopping Data

Indicates if G3 RMS considers the effect of that competitor’s pricing on your demand. "True" means that you selected the competitor to "Use Rate Shopping Data" in Competitor Settings.

LOS

The pricing decision for the competitor, if available.

A "Closed" value in this column indicates that the competitor is closed, or the rate being shopped is restricted for a given arrival date and LOS. G3 RMS creates a value for that competitor and uses that in its calculations. The system sets the value assuming that closed competitors are a sign of compression and high demand in the market.

Updated On The date of the rate shop.
