Competitor Details

Use Competitor Details to view the most recent data from all competitors and all channels in Pricing.

G3 RMS displays new rate shopping data immediately, but it impacts decisions and the forecast only after the next processing (or if you run a What If scenario). See Important Dates for the most recent rate shopping data.

Steps to Access

  1. Click and then Pricing.
  2. Change the From and To selections to locate the date to be viewed.
  3. Click the Competitors link. Competitor Details displays.

Detail Description
Channel The name of the channel.
Competitor The name of all competitors included in the rate shop. A highlight indicates the default competitor, as set up in Competitor Display settings.
LOS The length of stay for which the rate shop was performed.
Room Class The G3 RMS Room Class that is mapped to the Competitive Room Type, based on Room Class Mapping.
Competitive Room Type The name of the competitive room type for which the rate shop was performed.
Remarks

This field is imported directly from the rate shop and usually contains information on the hotel, the rate and room type shopped.

Ensure that you compare similar rates. For example, if you compare the primary priced product to the competitors’ discounted Loyalty Program price, then G3 RMS tends to price lower.

Use Rate Shopping Data

Shows if you selected the competitor for "Use Rate Shopping Data" in Competitor Settings. "Yes" means that G3 RMS considers the effect of that competitor’s pricing on your demand.

Use in Competitive Market Position Constraints If you enabled Competitive Market Position Constraints, you see the selected constraint, for example, High Range. NA means the competitor is not selected for the constraint.
Price

The pricing decision for the competitor, if available.

For properties in countries with Tax-inclusive PricingClosed Tax-inclusive pricing applies in countries where quoted and booked prices have to include taxes like a Value-Added Tax (VAT) or Goods and Services Tax (GST). If you are not in a country with tax-inclusive pricing, taxes are added to pricing only at the point of payment. In G3 RMS, tax-inclusive pricing is enabled and configured in Property Specific Configuration., the competitor price includes the tax percentage that you set up.

A "Closed" value in this column indicates that the competitor is closed, or the rate being shopped is restricted for a given arrival date and LOS. G3 RMS creates a value for that competitor and uses that in its calculations. The system sets the value assuming that closed competitors are a sign of compression and high demand in the market.

Updated On The date of the rate shop.
