Package Elements

Use Package Elements if any of your linked products include non-room elements, such as breakfast. Once set up, you can apply the package elements to products in the Definition tab. See how the system prices linked products about the impact of package elements.

When Not to Set up Packages

Do not add packages that are already part of the Base Product’s final price. For example, a linked product includes breakfast, but you already added breakfast to the Final Price of your Base Product using Supplements. In this case, you do not need to set up breakfast as a package element.

Only set up packages used in Linked Products. You don't need to set up every package from your reservation system.

Setup Steps

Setting up Package Elements

  1. Click , then Decisions, and then Pricing.
  2. Click Advanced Settings .
  3. Click Package Elements.
  4. Set up your packages:
Column Description

Click the add icon to add a new package.

Name Enter a unique name for the package, like Breakfast, Dinner, or Spa.
Description

Enter an optional description to provide more information about the package.

Charge Type Select if the package is priced Per Adult, Per Child, or as a Set Amount for both adults and children.
Amount of Charge

Enter the amount that you charge for the package, including taxes.

Note: charges apply to each night. If you have a multi-night package with a charge that only applies to one night, distribute the value. For example, you have a two-night package that includes one dinner for 100 per person. Set the package amount to 50 per person and in the product Definition, add a Maximum Days value of two for Length of Stay. This way the two nights at 50 add up to 100.

Adjustment Type Select if the Amount of Charge is a fixed value or a percentage of the product price.
Actions

Click the edit icon to edit a package. If you edit the charge values for a package that is already attached to products, your changes adjust the price of those products.

Click to save a new or edited package.

Click to cancel editing or creating the package.

Click to delete a package. Note: You cannot delete a package that is attached to Active products. Edit the products to remove the package first. You can delete packages that are attached to inactive products but be aware that the price of those products adjusts to remove the package charge when you reactivate the products.
