Function Space Performance Trends
Use the three tabs of the Performance Trends page to understand historical function space performance and evaluate future demand. You can review actual function space utilization, forecasted utilization, and revenue and profit at the day or Day Part level.
Function Space Utilization
The Function Space Utilization tab displays a comparison of actual, forecasted and historical utilization values. Use this report to understand function space demand patterns over time, review materialization data and compare current performance to last year.
Revenue & Profit
The Revenue & Profit tab displays revenue and profit values for past occupancy dates. Use this report to understand how well you have maximized revenue and profit for function space in the past. The RevPAST and ProPAST data indicate how efficiently you are using your available space to maximize revenue and profits. The RevPOST and ProPOST data indicate how much revenue and profit you are earning for occupied space. See Function Space Metrics for more information about ProPAST and ProPOST calculations.
If these values look smaller than you expect, remember that they are calculated per square meter or foot, depending on your General Configuration.
Function Space Detail
The Function Space Details tab consolidates the data from the previous two reports into a summary view, which displays actual, forecasted and historical utilization values along with revenue and profit data. Use this report to understand and compare function space sold, the forecast, the impact of prospective business, and current trends compared to last year.

Report Steps
Accessing Performance Trends
- Click
and then Performance Trends. - Type or select the Start Date for the range of dates to display. The reports default to the current month as of the System Date. The date selectors change the displayed period for all the Performance Trends tabs.
- Type or select the End Date for the range of dates to display.
- For the Function Space Utilization tab you can also select a Day Part if you want to filter data by Day Part. Results will only be available for Day Parts that are included for forecasting in Day Parts Configuration.
- Click Apply.
Interacting with Graphs and Tables
The Performance Trends tabs provide several tools for changing the data view:
- Click Graph to view graphical data.
- Click Table to view tabular data.
- Click Excel
to export the tabular data to an Excel spreadsheet. - Point the mouse to a data point on a graph to see the date and values that the point represents.
- Click any label in the legend below a chart to hide its line. Click it again to restore the line.
- Sort in tabular view:
- Click a column head to sort on that column.
- Click a column head and drag it to a new location to reorder the columns.
Data Details
Function Space Utilization
Function Space Utilization displays the following information:

| Day of Week | The day of the week that corresponds to the occupancy date. |
| Occupancy Date | The date of the function space occupancy. |
| Utilization % Actual | The achieved function space utilization percentage for past dates or the on-books utilization percentage for current and future dates, for the day or Day Part. The total utilization at the day level is the average of the utilization for the Day Parts, weighted based on how many hours each Day Part represents. See Function Space Metrics for more information. G3 RMS weights the utilization for a Day Part by the square area of the rooms used. |
| Utilization Forecast % | The expected function space utilization percentage for the day or Day Part. This value can be the system's forecasted value or a user's override of the system forecast if the value is adjusted on the Forecast Review page. The total forecasted utilization at the day level is the average of the forecasted utilization for the Day Parts, weighted based on how many hours each Day Part represents. See Function Space Metrics for more information. G3 RMS weights the forecasted utilization for a Day Part by the square area of the rooms used. |
| Utilization Last Year % | The achieved function space utilization percentage for the same date last year, adjusted by day of week, for the day or Day Part. |
Revenue & Profit
Revenue & Profit displays the following information:
