The Discover Learning System

Discover helps you become a G3 RMS expert in how to optimally set up and manage the system. You can find the matching learning materials whether you are a new user or want to refresh your skills, whether you're the primary user or have limited access.

If you are your property's G3 RMS System CEO, you give users access to the system and to Discover, see the following steps.

Access Steps

  1. Select the Discover Learning Access checkbox when you create user accounts in G3 RMS for your team members who need access to Discover. See User Management for the steps to set up user accounts.
  2. After you save their new account, these users receive a Welcome email about how to sign in to Discover. If they don't receive the email, ask them to check their email Spam folder.
  3. When users sign in to G3 RMS, they can access Discover by clicking their initials in the top right corner of any page and selecting Discover. The learning in which users are enrolled by default is described below.

Learning in Discover

Your Discover learning depends on how you work with G3 RMS.

Primary Users

If you are responsible for setting up G3 RMS at your property, you get a message in G3 RMS inviting you to enroll in Discover. If you didn't get the invite, ask your IDeaS contact to enroll you. After you are enrolled in the Initial Configuration collection, complete the content in the presented order. It's provides the learning that you need before each check-in session. Complete your learning so you make the best use of your time with your IDeaS Client Training Specialist, using it for strategic discussion rather than system navigation.

New Users

New users also get a message in G3 RMS inviting them to enroll in the New User learning collection. The content is similar to the Initial Configuration collection, but without setup tasks and milestones.

Other System Roles

Your property likely has other users, like General Managers, Front Office Managers, Group Sales or Reservations, who also need to learn about G3 RMS.

The first time they sign in to Discover, they see a survey on the Discover home page. Completing the survey enrolls them in recommended learning content based on what they need to do in G3 RMS. For example, if they are in Group Sales, they select that they need to evaluate group business. Then Discover recommends appropriate content on how to accomplish that work using G3 RMS. All users can also browse and enroll in any other learning.
